When you conduct a screen recording within Storyline, you'll have the ability to export that recording as an MP4 file as described here. If you're looking to publish your Storyline course as one single MP4 file, that feature is not available, although it is one I saw recently being discussed as a feature request.
Thanks Ashley. I had a feeling it wasn't an option yet I know it is in Captivate so was hoping Storyline would have that feature as well....hopefully soon.
It doesn't yet have that feature, and you're welcome to submit a request for it. In the meantime, if you need a version of your Storyline course as an MP4, you could publish it and use Replay (which is available to download here for Storyline users) to record the published version. A bit more steps, but would give you both a published interactive Storyline course and an MP4 version.
I am trying to use my published Storyline story and record in Replay as suggested. When I do so, my system sound is scratchy and skips and the screen capture is blurry. Is there any way to do this (settings, etc) and preserve the screen quality? I'm thinking if I can get a decent screen recording, I can use Replay to reinsert the original audio files.
I submitted a feature request for mp4 export, but I really need a solution now that produces a decent video.
Debby - Here is what I do. I set up my Storyline presentation to have the slides auto advance when the timeline ends. I then publish the presentation using the highest quality settings - run it on my desktop and use Camtasia to record the output.
Articulate is a great program to create interactive training. Sometimes, all I need is an video MP4 for employees to watch. Although Articulate does not have that feature, I was able to do a workaround to getting an MP4 created and posted.
Step 1 - Create your Storyline project and be ready to preview the entire project.
Step 2 - Open Articulate Replay and Record Screen.
Step 3 - After sizing your screen shot, record the screen.
Step 4 - In Replay, Add your audio soundbites and place in order.
Step 5 - Once it has the flow you want, Publish to an MP4.
It would be great if Articulate had this feature and all you had to do is click a button.
Hi, Mike -- Many thanks for sharing your workaround and your ideas! If you'd like to share your suggestion with our Product Development team, here is the form you would need to do so. :)

Is this capability available in Articulate Studio?
Hi Patricia and welcome to Heroes!
Studio does not have a publish to MP4 option either, although you're welcome to request one.
If you purchased Studio 13, Replay would be included in your license, and if you have Studio 09 you can purchase Replay as a separate product here.
