Creating freeform questions that have no right/wrong answers

Dec 02, 2014

Hi,

Newbie here so would appreciate any help! I'm looking to create a quiz that calculates the student's 'risk aversion.' So, while there is no correct/incorrect answer, each choice will be scored with either a 1, 2 or 3. Ideally, the score will then be added after all the questions are answered and a "Aggressive investor" or "Safe investor" result be provided.

Did some digging around and looks like the best option would be for me to give feedback for each choice and get the student to manually add their score. So using form settings to be "Score: None" and "Feedback: By Choice". Is there a way to automatically calculate the score and only give the student one answer? Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

Hello Hajira, and welcome to Heroes!

You could also use the multiple choice quiz option. This type of quiz slide gives you the option to score by choice on each answer, instead of having a right/wrong selection. You can also have custom feedback per choice and removing the incorrect/correct feedback layers.

set the slide up to score by choice and feedback by choice:

If you are using a results slide, you can make it so only the total points show and not a percent by removing the %Results.ScorePercent%%  from the slide.

Attached is an example. Hope this helps.
