Creating new colour schemes

Nov 04, 2013

Hi

I have been trying to create a background colour scheme template, which I can use for several modules that form part of a series.  Just when I think I have it right--the colour looks okay in 'Player' and in 'Preview'--and I have saved the file; I re-open the file only to discover that it defaults back to the original colour scheme.  I have tried to delete the previous schemes and start all over but nothing seems to work.

Can you help me please?

Many thanks,

Chris

Good morning Chris,

Okay, you might have already done this, but there is separate Save button for the Player Colors... It's the blue disk off to the right of the Color Scheme drop down. You'll want to save after you've made the changes, not before. I don't think it works as intuitively as it should. For example, if you make changes to a Color Scheme you've already saved, you have to give it a new name. It doesn't seem to overwrite under the same name.

If that isn't working, then I would suspect there's something else going on with the software. I have quite a few Color Schemes I've created for clients, but they're showing up without a problem.

Hopefully some of that is helpful.

Hi Chris,

Have you tried to save the player separately to see if that is not keeping your colors either? To save your player, click the Current Player button on the Player Properties window and choose Save. Enter a name for the player if you're prompted, and click OK. Also, you'll want to confirm you're working with local project files and if you're still having difficulty keeping the player colors you set within your Storyline file you may want to conduct a repair of Storyline.
