I'm going through your tutorials and I'm trying to create a new blank slide, however it keeps picking up the design from the previous slide. I have one slide with a header/footer design and storyline won't allow me to create a new blank slide.
When you go to insert a new slide, you should see a new window open titled "Insert Slides". If you click on the tab labeled "Basic Layouts", you'll see an option for "Blank". Are you not able to select this when you're trying to add the new slide?
Thanks for getting back to me. Yes, I do see "Basic Layouts" and "Blank" as an option. But, just like your example indicates, it picks up the design of the previous slide and won't allow me to insert a totally white blank slide. I wasn't able to change this in the slide master. I'm sure I can think of ways around this (and I actually like the feature that the design is automatically picked up on the next slide), but is there a way to turn that off?
Ahh, I see. So it's not the layout you're wanting to change, but the background that carries through. I misunderstood.
Yes, you can certainly remove this, if you'd like.
First, right click on the new slide that you've inserted and click on "Format Background":
You can change your background to pretty much anything you want from here. So, if you want the appearance to be completely blank, select "Solid fill" and it should choose the default of white:
If you only want this to apply to this specific slide, just lick on "Close". However, you can also apply this to all of your slides, by clicking on "Apply to All".
Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions.
