Creating question draws based on variables and combining scores

Hi,
We have created a course in which learners pick a specialty at the beginning (they select one of two available, via a button). Then some of the slides they see are based on the specialty they have picked.
Our issue: At the end we want to create an assessment that is made up of some generic content questions and some questions that cover the specialty that was selected. E.g. 10 questions out of a generic question pool plus 4 questions out of the specialty 1 pool or 4 questions out of the specialty 2 pool. The score of all 14 questions is then to be added up, with a score and pass or fail displayed.
Is this possible? How do we best approach this?
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Sabine

I have the exact same situation and question.
Hi, Jay -- It looks like Sabine went ahead and asked her question over in the BBC forum, and this thread was recommended as something to consider, so please give it a look.
