Creating Storyline with 1 topic and 5 lessons to be finished in order

Oct 23, 2022

Hello

I have made number of  courses on Rise 360 and I am trying to learn storyline now.  Everything makes sense to me, except for one thing.  I am trying to make a class for a middle school classroom that has 1 topic but will span over 5 days.  Students will need to complete a lesson on day 1, but they cannot move on to the next day until they complete day 1.  It needs to be this way with each of the 5 lessons.

I am pretty sure this will be done through some sort of branching, which makes sense to me, but keeping the students from moving on to the next lesson is what is baffling me.

Rise 360 was a no brainer, but to do this in storyline is another matter.  I may be totally off on the branching scenario, so if I am, please let me know.

Thanks for your help!

Randy

Hi, Randy,

If you need to ensure the students access the content in order, set the navigation to Restricted. That's done via Menu settings in the Player. This post will help with that (and with other ways to control the Next button):

This post will help if you want a custom menu:

Note: on its own, Storyline can't prevent someone from accessing content until a specified date. In other words, a student could complete the day-1 topic and then move immediately on to the day-2 topic.
