Custom instruction layer on quiz slides - strange behaviour

May 31, 2016

Hi everyone.  I have created a test mode simulation for a software system we are introducing.  I wanted to have a customer layer that overlays the quiz slide that slides out and retracts with the necessary information as the user needs it while progressing through the quiz.

It works if I don't have feedback by question selected, but on preview, you can click just anywhere on the screen to advance through, so the hotspots don't matter.  If I do have feedback by question selected, it won't allow the trigger for the slide layer to work as it registers it as an incorrect answer.

Do you have any advice for how I can get this to work?  otherwise I will have to resort to try mode steps and I wanted to avoid the callout boxes since the idea of this is knowing where to go.

Hi, Stacey -- Thanks for reaching out and sorry to hear of your troubles! May I ask if you are finding the same behavior when you test your published output in the intended environment?

As the article states, "If you view an Articulate Storyline course on your local hard drive (or send it to someone else to view on their local hard drive), you'll encounter security restrictions from the computer, web browser, Flash Player, and network that'll cause various features of your content to fail."

Please let us know if that helps or if you continue to experience difficulties! :)
