This may sound a little silly but is there any way of customising a button/shape and saving it for later use in the project. (beside the cut and paste action )
Once you have the formatting the way you want, the option to right-click on the formatted button/shape outline and 'Set as Default Shape' might help. You can use this option for any text box, caption, shape, button you wish to use in the future. The only downside is that you can only have one default for that object (in my experience).
You may also want to look at creating that shape or button on a slide master, and then you could apply that master to other slides. Additionally you could create it on a slide in a scene that you won't be sending your users through - but could serve as a placeholder for some template slides.

Hi Emmanuel,
