Customized results slide template

Oct 08, 2021

Hello,

I want to use my own results slide when inserting a results slide in the project. Is there a way to save my own creation and then select it whenever I insert a results slide? I tried saving it as a template but it just doesn't show in the list of templates I can choose from.

What is the right way to get this done?

Hi, Eric,

Results slides are finicky. Duplicating or importing one usually causes problems with the built-in variables.

You could try setting up a Master layout for the slide and a Feedback layout for the layers when you need more than one Results slide within the same project. Here's another option:

  • Insert your first Results slide. Design the base and layers however you want.
  • When you need another Results slide, insert a new one. Be sure to note the variables it uses. (I'd probably just move the text boxes with the score variables off the slide, for safe keeping.) Then apply a blank layout to the base and to the layers.
  • Copy all the objects from the already-designed Results slide to the new Results slide. You'll have to do a separate copy-and-paste for the base and each layer.
  • Adjust the variable references in the text boxes so they refer to the variables used by the new Results slide (not the old one). And edit any other text as necessary.

One other work around is to add a generic results slide and then drag all the elements off the screen so that they exist but are not viewed. This leaves you with a blank functional slide. You can then copy and paste your designed results, success and failure layers into it. Make sure to update the variables based on the NEW results slide you inserted. Its ugly but it works!
