Data.gz and Data.js

Can someone shed some light on what these two files are within the "mobile" output folder of a published Storyline course:
- Data.gz (what is it?)
- Data.js (this file is 3.6Mb, which I feel is pretty large for a *.js file). Why so big? What is this file responsible for?
Thanks in advance,

Hi Eric,
The HTML5 data is stored in the "mobile/data.js" file, and the Articulate Mobile Player data is stored in the "mobile/data.gz". Both of these files contain functions needed to run the content in their respective player.
Hi again,
Also, since the Apple-related apps do not run Flash, all graphics that are part of the project are converted to code and stored in these files - hence the large file size.
