Default settings for Storyline markers

Hi Norma,

I don't think there is a "return to default" option for working with the markers, but can you tell us what has happened to them? Are you looking to change the format color or something else? You should be able to make those changes when clicking on the marker and then using the marker tab. If the Storyline file is behaving oddly, you may want to try importing it into a new project and if the markers are still behaving oddly in a new Storyline file, you may need to go through the repair steps detailed here.

Thanks for getting back to me and for your suggestions.

I had changed the properties and then set that marker as the default. In the popup, I can unbold the text but for some reason it still has a shadow that I can't remove. I don't remember markers looking like that the last time I used them, so I thought the changes I made had something to do with it.

Your suggestion about importing into a new project will probably work, because I did create a marker in a new blank project and it was fine. But I just wonder why I can't remove the shadow on that text!

Hi Norma Choose a marker, go to Format then go to marker Styles tab and choose a marker from there with no shadow. ALSO IF YOU WANT TO REMOVE THE SHADOW ON THE TEXT, GO TO HOME TAB, font tab ans choose $ sign while selecting the text to remove the shadow on the text

Once you set it as the default, that will be used in that project as you insert new ones. You'd need to make updates to the formatting and then set as the default again to "revert" back, so to speak.  I took a look at a brand new marker I inserted and the shadow appeared - but you can remove the shadow around the marker itself by going to format shape - Shadow - and selecting no shadow. As you'll see in this thread, removing the shadow from the icon itself is not possible.
