Defining a size for the player
Sep 25, 2013
Is there a way for me to tell Articulate to make a player window a specific size rather than the generic settings in the Player Properties window? My company uses a 3rd party host called Safety Skills for distributing our eLearning content, and we are having problems with being able to see content when it's opened. I've tried adjusting the generic settings to see if that might change, but nothing works; all that pops up is a little 3x2 rectangle.
This is what it looks like when the player size is set to "Lock player at optimal size" (content is the correct size, but you have to scroll to see it all)
And this is what it looks like when it's set to "Scale player to fill browser window" (you can see the full module, but it's super tiny and impossible to read or answer the questions correctly)
From what I understand, their software reads the published file and looks for the specified dimensions to create a window for viewing the content; below is information from the lead developer over our account:
"When launching a course we scan the size of the document to adjust our frame to prevent scroll bars to appear inside. The document dimensions need to be fixed at load time so the scan will pick up the correct size and scale accordingly. Usually the body of the html file will have a set height and width, or the contents will fill the document and the maximum value will be used to adjust by."
Is there a way to make this happen in Articulate? We won't be using this company after the end of the year, but until that point we have employees that are required to take this training per client and OSHA requirements, and they can't view anything at present.

Hi Bekah,
It looks like you've already found and tried the settings described below:
Have you tried to see if the sizing remains the same within SCORM Cloud (a great place to test and determine if it's something to change within the file or the LMS)?
