I've been asked to update a course that was created by my predecessor. When I open the files he had saved I see several file types (JPEG, MP3, SWF) but no .Story files. I can launch the story and view it but I'm not able to open any of the files in Storyline 2 so that I may edit them. What am I missing? Is an unpublished storyline saved only in a .story format?
Kendall, it sounds like you've got a copy of the published course, but not the source file. An unpublished Storyline file will have the .story extension.
Unfortunately, if you don't have the source Storyline file, you will need to recreate the course. You might be able to salvage the audio files and some of the graphics from the published course, but otherwise, I think you've basically gotta start from scratch.

Thanks Judy. Any recommendations? Will I have to recreate the storyline using the parts & pieces in the published file contents?
