Hi, everyone! Is there an easy way to disable or hide the submit button until the user selects at least two answers in a Pick Many freeform interaction? I know that I probably need to use true-false variables, but I can't wrap my head around how to tell Storyline to track that the student has selected at least two of the choices before enabling the button. I also would like a message to show "You must select two responses" or something like that if they attempt to use the submit button. Any ideas?
Have a look at the attached and see if this approach might work for you. The submit button is disabled at the start and will be enabled when at least two buttons are selected and disabled if not. I use a True/False variable to signify that any of the buttons was clicked. Based on that change I use a numeric variable to count how many of the buttons are selected.
I don't quite see the point of having the "You must select two responses" message, because the Submit button is disabled anyway until they select two choices.
I like Michael's solution, not sure the need to disable until yhey pick just two, the message would help but if the user didnt know they needed to pick two (because they did not know the answer) they are going to get it wrong unless serendipity plays a part.
Thank you so much! I didn't think about using the number variable with the true-false variable. And you're right....if the button is disabled, they can't do anything.
