Disappearing buttons when using the picture fill effect
Jan 22, 2014
Hello All,
Here is the situation:
- Start a new Story in Storyline
- Insert a new Free Form Quiz question of type "Pick One"
- Create a text box and enter some text on the single slide
- Create some buttons using the "Interactive Objects" tool from the Insert ribbon.
- Use the picture fill effect for each button (choose whatever you would like).
- Enter a text label for each button
- Use the Edit Pick One menu and set up your distractors and your answer. Save your changes
- Use Preview -> This Slide. Everything should work.
- Now go back and use the "Edit Pick One" button to enable shuffling of the answers (those pesky buttons with picture fill). Save your changes.
- Use the Preview feature again. Notice anything? Yeah those buttons are not there. At least not until you mouse over them.
So, is it just me or is this "a thing" for others?

Hi Pedro,
Just responded to your earlier post about this.
Thanks!
I have not heard from anyone on this topic or the ones posted earlier here
It would be better to report bugs here as a support case, if it is something repeatable then that is the route I would take.

Pedro,
I haven't forgotten about the laundry list :)
Phil's 100% correct (thanks!) - you're always welcome to submit the bugs through that form.
I'm always happy to take a look and test on my end. If I can reproduce, I'll certainly share with our QA team.
However, I haven't had a chance to dig into the issues you shared earlier. I apologize for the delay, but it has been a bit busy this week.
If you decide to submit them yourself, please let me know. If not, I'm still happy to work when them when I'm able to take a look.
Thanks!
Christine,
Thank you for the update!
I am attempting to confirm if it is my installation or if it is Storyline itself. So many issues seem to fall between those two root causes that I don't want to submit something that cannot be reproduced.
Hi Pedro,
You're very welcome :)
No problem at all - it's usually one or the other and it's always best to determine which is causing the issue.
If you need any assistance with that, please just let me know!
Best,
Christine
