Disappearing Triggers on a Layer

Nov 18, 2013

Has anyone else had an issue where a trigger on a layer is set up and later disappears seemingly on its own? We have one where the trigger was set up to close the layer then later it disappeared after edits were made on other slides of the course.

Thank you!

Hi Carrie,

I haven't seen this behavior, but if Storyline is behaving oddly, you'll want to check the following things:

  • Work on your local drive (your C: drive).Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, includingfile corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
  • You should also make sure the directory pathto your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters(for example C:\Articulate).
  • Avoid using special characters, accents orsymbols in your file names.

If you continue to experience odd behavior, I'd suggest conducting a repair of Storyline.

Hi Carrie,

Thanks for the information - are you able to conduct the repair of Storyline and update us on the status after that? Additionally, is this only happening in one Storyline file? If so, that file may have encountered corruption in another way than mentioned above and I'd try importing it into a new Storyline file to see if that resolves it.
