The issue is the background color of the slide. I changed it to a grey which shows correctly in the thumbnail (yellow arrow) but the slide is blue for an unknown reason to me (red arrow). I assume it has to do with the color theme. But changing the color theme does change the color to anything but the grey I selected. Bizarre. Can someone give a hint how to fix it? Thank you!!
The background in the thumbnail looked like it contained a link to it, possibly because of an embedded object that you added to your slide. Would you be willing to share a copy of your project file here or in private by opening a support case so we can take a look at the affected slide? We'll delete it when we're done troubleshooting!

i just found a solution: right click on the background and chose "reset background"
Still, I do not understand the color changes that happened to the background. If someone knows, please let me know. TY!
