Download Error

Jul 25, 2014

Hi all,

I have been using Storyline at my current place of work for the last year. In the last couple of weeks, we have tried downloading Storyline to two different computers and 3/4 of the way through the download we receive this error:

Although we are in a server environment, we are downloading to the C drive and have also tried disabling our anti-virus programs. Any other suggestions as to why we are unable download Storyline?

As I said, I have not had this problem in the past and have downloaded Storyline and Studio many times without issue.

Thanks for your help in advance everyone!

Hi Erika,

I'm afraid I'm not quite clear as to where you're downloading the file from.

Are you downloading from the Articulate site? If so, are you downloading the executable or zipped version?

We did just release Update 6 - if you're using an old URL, that might be part of the problem.

Now, if you're downloading it from an internal source due to your environment, you may want to ask your IT department for assistance.

Let me know if you have trouble accessing or completing the download from our site.

Thanks!

Hi Erika,

You also tried that new link that Christine shared? So it's the download itself that is causing the error, not the installation? Have you tried downloading it within different browsers or checked how the browser security settings are set up?

I don't believe I've seen that error message before, so I'm curious have you already checked with your IT department to see if they had any other thoughts about what could be occurring?

Please let us know any other information you're able to share about the set up!

Hi Ashley,

It's the installation that's causing the error - sorry for the confusion.

Certain users are able to install Storyline but others are not. This has changed in the last couple of months as it never used to be a problem. There are no permissions differences between these users.

Is it possible that Articulate is limiting the amount of downloads per user on our server? I have had to deactivate and reinstall a couple of times over the last year. I'm not sure exactly how this works, but it looks as though nothing has changed on our end to create this problem.

Any further help is greatly appreciated!

Hi Erika!

So the installation is causing the error, not the download or activation, correct?

I have seen something similar reported one other time, and it was the clients anti-virus software.

I would recommend uninstalling the software, disabling your anti-virus, and then reinstall your software.

Is that the order that you performed before? I know you mentioned it above.
