Drag and Drop into 3 categories

Feb 22, 2021

Newbie here... I have watched countless tutorials and tried working off numerous templates to create a D&D activity in SL. None of my attempts have worked perfectly, although this one I have come the furthest with.

I need help with an activity thats just for fun and not for grading:

  1. Removing the Selection of Goals and Targets (top left)
  2. How do I change the state of a card when the user drops it into the correct/incorrect category? I have created new states on each card, but they only show once all the cards have been dropped. I need it to show immediately after a card has been dropped, so the learner can redrop if its incorrect. I can see correct/incorrect/try again layers - but doesnt seem like they are used after each individual card has been dropped.
  3. The submit tick at the bottom right is not very obvious. Can I change that or should I add a button
  4. Lastly, what is the easiest way to create these activities? Is there a wizzard/template in Rise that I could use in future and import into SL?

Thanks so much!

1. Go to player - it is the Title

2. From either Question Tools Design, or Form View, choose Drag and Drop Options and Deselect "Delay item drop states until interaction is submitted"  Be sure to use the built-in states of Drop Correct and Crop Incorrect.  The layers only show up after the submit button is clicked. If you want to send an overall summarizing message after the interaction, use the submit trigger and the layers. If all you need is the change of state of the dropped cards, you don't need to submit it; just jump to the next slide.

3. Yes, unless you are an experienced SL developer, you probably won't be able to find or understand the submit button without instructions. I always make my own objects and use them for buttons.

4. Beats me. Maybe some bloke what's able will weigh in.
