I found Mike Taylor's blog posting "Using a Slider Interaction to Track User Reponses" to be very helpful. The information provided by Richard Calcutt is quite good, and I was able to use it to create a very useful interactive learning object. I have attached the SWF of the file. I will post again with the articulate file you can view to see how to create this function.
