I'm pretty sure this isn't possible in SL but is there any way to draw and position a shape using collected variables? Maybe use javascript and the canvas of the player html?
There is no built-in way to do this with Storyline triggers. If you have a small set of possible variable values, you might be able to use states that show the shape in predefined positions. For complete control, JS is your best bet.
Hi, Mark -- I just wanted to stop in to note that if you should decide to go the JS route, unfortunately that is not something we'd be able to provide support for, however, you may want to take a look at this info on JS Best Practices and keep that handy. Best of luck with your project! :)
Hi, Mark -- Thanks for confirming that a JS solution is what you have in mind. My apologies, but I am not equipped to assist with JS-related requests, however, there are lots of gurus in the community who will hopefully be able to chime in with some ideas you can try.

Thanks Christe,
I am pursuing a JS solution. Am currently trying to work out how to target the canvas of a web object.
so far using
var c = document.getElementById("myCanvas");
...is not working within SL.
Has anyone had success talking to the web object from within the SL player?
