I have a ready storyline file, I needed to change some texts in it, and some texts happen to come in a diamond with outline.
when I try to edit it, it refuse, even from states, and there is no ungroup option for the text and diamond, I also can't select it directly using the hover, I have to use timeline and select it from there.
Note: they are not a picture, because when I change the diamond size, text remain the same.
Hello Haneen and welcome to E-Learning Heroes. 😊
Thanks for reaching out and sharing what you are running into with your project.
With your permission, I'd like to take a look at your project file to investigate what's happening. You can share it publicly here, or send it to me privately by uploading it here. I'll delete it when I'm done troubleshooting.
For some inexplicable (to me, at least) reason, this text was put in a text box, placed in a state of a diamond, which was then placed as a state within what the timeline calls an outline which isn't filled. My only guess as to why someone would go to that much trouble is that they wanted to make it very difficult for somebody following them to change the text. Best practice is to merely write the text on the original filled shape. See attached video 4.
You can, as I did in the video, copy the blue diamond from its state on the uncolored diamond, paste it on the slide, edit it, and change the text.
Or, an easier route is to edit the shape, cover the text with another diamond, and put new text on it. See screen recording 1.

Without seeing your file have you tried seeing if there are 'states' of the diamond - may be able to edit if you click the edit states tab?
Yes I have tried, nothing changed.

I have attached the file, it contains only the slides with the problem.
Reminder: The problem is that I cannot edit the text in diamonds
Thank you
