Edit Video Button Issues.

Jun 18, 2015

Has anyone else had any issue using the edit video button in SL2?  I have other video editing software on my computer, but I received a draft file from someone with a noisy simulation in it.  I have experienced this before, and I KNEW it would completely freeze my system.... but it was late... I was tired... and the Mountain Dew had me clicking before I completely processed what I was doing.

It froze, and I immediately did the face-palm and slow eye-closing actions associated with clicker's remorse. It didn't help, so I just powered down for the night.

Anyway. I am running a Win 7, 64-bit system with 12 GB of RAM. I had nothing else open, and it just freezes the program. I am pleased to announce the SL2 had a backup of my previous work, so I was able to pick up where I left off (minus about 5 small edits), so that was AMAZING!!!

So, props for the backup / retrieval feature... questions about the Edit Video button.

Hi, Steve -- Sorry to hear you are experiencing issues, but I do appreciate the creativity and humor you employed when you drafted your question. :)

So, there are a few things we can/should try first to rule out the causes of some common issues. Please make sure you are working locally as described here, and you may want to try importing the file into a new file. If you are still having issues, you might want to try to repair Storyline. Also, could you please ensure that you are utilizing the most recent SL2 Update? Info on Update 5 can be found here. Please let us know if issues persist, and we'll try to dig a little deeper.
