I've triggered an email successfully, but it defaults to opening outlook and I want it to open GoogleMail instead. We have both systems at the University, but Google is the ?default?. Anyone know how I might change this?
You are correct, it is about browser defaults. When you issue the javascript email command, all it doesn't is send a command to the operating system requesting an email client. The default email client for the user's system, if their is one, will respond. It all has to do with security settings, and what the browser is allowed to do on a user's equipment, which is pretty restricted. There are ways around it, but they all require some level of coding, and some server side scripting.

You need to set gmail as your default for the browser, although without a client installed this will not work.
