I wanted to email the learner about their status and progress but
since some may have shared computers they would sign-in an email address
and send it to that address. How can I do this instead of just opening
the default email of that computer?
Can you give a little more detail about what you're trying to do? Not quite sure I understand what you're trying to do here. Are you currently using an LMS, or are you just looking for a way to track a users email address when they are using a shared computer?
sorry for a late reply and yes about the second question - I am not using LMS it will be (if ever I finish) a stand-alone app (viewable in a browser) the only time it would require net connection is when it has to retrieve these (questionable, since I still don't know how to do this) variables. I assume that some learners that would access it would be on a shared pc (or pc not of their own) so I am planning to have a log-in account. I am also planning this to be exported as an SWF file embedded in sharepoint.
thanks about this @peter - it doesn't completely solve my problems but at least this is a start. Just wish I could have more knowledge on how to handle those variables via javascript (embedded in the storyline) since I am no programmer - maybe i'll research more on this. Anyway, I don't know about LMS or moodle for that matter since I always get a vibe the company will be supportive about LMS. Bummer on the IPAD capabilities as I was planning to (or at least mention it in our biz plan) about putting the app on IPAD.

Hi RS,
See if this older thread gives you some ideas of what your options might be.
