I have a course that runs through our online LMS at work. We have a video embedded from another website on one of the slides within. This video will not play when the LMS is launched through Internet Explorer, however plays fine through Firefox. Is this an LMS issue or is there a setting in Storyline I can amend?
Have you tested this in the SCORM Cloud to see if you get the same results?
Also, are you inserting as a file from website, or are you using this as a web object? If the web object uses Javascript, it could cause issues with Internet Explorer.
If it works as expected in SCORM Cloud you'll want to reach out to your LMS about what browsers and versions they support and see if they have additional suggestions on how you should be inserting the video.
Hello, I inserted a YouTube video using embed code, but when I publish, the video doesn't play using either IE or Chrome. I just get a still shot from the beginning of the video and the timeline goes across in the default number of seconds. I'm using Storyline 3. I tried Scorm Cloud and get the same result.
With your permission, we can take a look at your embed code to nail down why it isn't playing in Chrome or Internet Explorer. We'll delete the file when we're done troubleshooting.
If that works for you, you can upload your file privately to our support team here. We'll give it a test and let you know what we find!
Hi Alison! Thanks for sharing the embed code. I inserted that video in a fresh Storyline 3 file, uploaded to SCORM Cloud and tested in Chrome 71 and Internet Explorer 11. The video played in both environments for me.
Can you test my link on your side and see what happens? If it plays normally, it'll be best to next see your .story file. As Alyssa mentioned, you can share it with us here or privately using this link.
Hi Crystal, Your link works fine. How did you publish it? We publish as flash with HTML5 backup because we have had issues with our LMS when publishing as HTML5 with flash backup.
Hey Alison. The original link was HTML5/Flash, but I republished to check the Flash first output. I still was able to view the video. Here's my new link.

Hi Emily,
I just tried it in the SCORM Cloud, and it does work...
When embedding the file I am inserting the file from website, and using the embed code they have given me on the site.
Thank you
Thanks for the update Phoebe.
Since it is working as expected in the SCORM Cloud, you may need to do some troubleshooting with your LMS team.
Here is an article with some troubleshooting steps you can try as well.

This is the embed code that I used:

Hi Alison,
I saw an error message when I clicked the link you shared. Is that the full link?
I'm sorry, I don't know what I pasted there. The embed code is:
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/KK_nngGEmvo" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>
