embedded video resizing in Firefox

May 07, 2014

Hi there everybody!

I know that video and Firefox has been talked about, but I haven't found a post that describes this particular issue. I'm embedding video from Vimeo (insert>video from website) and it displays and plays with the specified dimensions in the embed code when using Chrome. In Firefox it resizes to a bigger size. It plays without issue, it just doesn't recognize the dimensions.

I've attached screengrabs of how it should look and what does happen.

Has anyone else encountered this? I'd rather not use web objects or have them open in new windows. I may not have a choice though. Specifying the browser people use is also not an option.

Thank you for all of your help and great support.

Hi Mary-Lynne,

The first screenshot looks like the video is behaving like a web object that was too large for the slide. They tend to hover over content, including elements of the player.

Are you able to share the code or a .story file that contains the video in a slide, so we can take a look?

Also, what version of Firefox are you using to view the project?

Thanks!

Hi there

Thanks for responding!

I'm using Firefox 28.0 and the embed code is: <iframe src="myvideo.vimeo.com portrait=0&color=5a87c5"   width="790" height="444" frameborder="0" webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen allowfullscreen></iframe>

I've checked to make sure that the dimensions on the stage are the same as are in the embed code.  In another file, l also tried downsizing the original video so that it also matched the dimensions on stage.  All of the videos are on Vimeo.
