Embedded youtube video will not play even after being published
Sep 02, 2016
Hi,
I have been trying to get this to work for a while, I have embedded a youtube video into my course and when I try to play it it doesn't me too and I get this message:
(I am aware they do not play in preview mode, this is after I have publised the course and uploaded it onto our server)
Does this mean that the owner of the video has blocked people from being able to embed it into anything?
It does allow me to follow the link on there to open it in Youtube itself but as many users in my organisation are not allowed access to Youtube they will not be able to follow this link.
Any help would be most appreciated!
Many thanks in advance,
Rebecca

Try inserting the video via a webobject as descibed here.
Hi Michael, it is inserted as a web object and it still doesn't work :(
Can you share the video's URL here?
I was thinking about that too Matthew, but wanted to first test if the vid itself is protected against sharing.
Hi all, Thanks for your replies!
I took my work laptop home this weekend to try it out there and I got the same message...
Not sure what is going on! I obviously have no restrictions on my home internet to stop Youtube videos playing.
Here is the URL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pnTYFeZNLkQ
Hi Rebecca
I inserted the video as a webobject and uploaded to my webserver - runs fine for me

Hmmm how strange! I shall try again and see what happens!
