Error causing Course Preview to show this Screen (See Picture)

Aug 06, 2015

Hey all!

So I was just working through my course and trying to get through a slid simulation that I had made to teach someone how to use a software, and midway through the simulation my preview just ended without notice and displayed this screen (see picture).

Any idea why this happened or if this will happen to my published version of the course? It stops the course entirely and you can't do anything bu shut it down.
What could this screen/error mean?

Any insight would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Hi Braydon,

Thanks for the image and I'm sorry for the odd behavior you experienced.

I'd want to first confirm that you were working with local project files as described here. If you're seeing this behavior in only this file you'll want to look at importing it into a new project as described here.

If you see this across a few projects, you will want to go through the repair.

Please keep us posted on how it works after reviewing those.

Hi, Braydon --

Sorry to hear you are experiencing this issue, but there are a few things we can try initially to get started. The error you're seeing may be related to Flash, or DPI.

First, please make sure the machine is set to 96 DPI. Storyline doesn't currently support 120 DPI. If your system is set to 120 DPI, you may experience erratic behavior, such as:

*  Elements of the application are misplaced or distorted.

*  Objects are misplaced or distorted when previewed or published.

*  Zoomed images don't work as expected.

*  Font sizes are incorrect after using the translation features.

If the problem continues, please make sure you're running at least Flash version 10. If you're using 10, or a later version, please try installing the latest version of Flash and see if that resolves the issue.

Find Version | Flash Player - Adobe

If you're still not seeing a difference, please take a look at the following thread and try the suggestions posted by Linda:
