Simple 3-slide movie (not sure this is the proper term) created with Articulate Storyline. Works perfect off my hard drive but when uploaded to a course in Blackboard Vista, keep getting error message (see subject above). The file is there, though, inside folder story_content.
It's been a while since this error was reported by several members and a ticket was opened per your request. Have you been able to fix it?
I created a Drag-and-Drop question yesterday that uses shapes, using Articulate Storyline but again encountered the same problem. If the issue has not been resolved, is there a way to convert it to Quiz Maker. The key here is the shapes part. I know I can create the question from scratch using just text.
I tried to locate the case you mentioned this morning, but I was unable to find it. Do you have record of the case you submitted to our tech team? If so, can you share the case number with me, so I can take a look?
Also, if you're inserting SWF files, make sure you're not publishing for HTML5. For more information take a look at this article. You can also see a full chart of supported features and output types here.
No, I don’t, unfortunately. If you do a search of the term story_content/data.swf you will seethat several people had reported the same problem before I did. On October 29,2012 Peter Anderson asked me to open a ticket, which I did following the linkhe provided. If Articulate sent me anything I lost it, because I cannot findany record, and honestly do not remember.
Thanks very much for getting back to me. I have looked around at the other posts you mentioned and it looks like quite a few people were able to get this resolved. I did some extra digging, but I was not able to find a case created for your issue in October. I see other cases, just not one for this problem. I'm not sure if there was an issue with the case submission, or not.
Here's a couple of threads where others were able to resolve the issue, maybe these will work for you as well:
If those solutions don't solve the problem for you, please try to submit a support case with us so we can get this fixed for you. Also, please share your case number with me so I can make sure it's received and I'll follow along with the progress. If you have any trouble with submitting your case, just let me know.
Thanks for checking back in, Guillermo. Looks like Vira (your case owner) was hoping you'd be able to send her your .story file. Here's the most recent activity from your case:
Hi Guillermo,
Thanks for the upload but we received the already published files instead of the raw Storyline file. Can you upload the .Story file too? Here's the form:
Meanwhile, I also checked your output files. It appears you have files published to "Web" format. I believe Blackboard is an *LMS* server so have you tried publishing to LMS instead? Here's how to publish a Storyline project for LMS distribution:
I did that already. I even got a message from someone else saying I had to send the entire folder, so I zipped it and sent it using the form. I even provided a case number...00307974
Anyway, I just sent you a new case since the other project has been finished and I had to use another option (a co-worker built another exercise; I believe he used Flash, but I'm not sure). But I'm having the same problem outside the LMS now, and I'm seeing it with both IE9 and Chrome.

Hi Guillermo,
See if this related thread helps you find a resolution. That thread discusses using Firefox. Which browser are you experiencing the issue with?
Yeah, I saw that; but I have tried Chrome, Firefox and IE (on Windows) and Safari on a Mac, and none works.
Thanks, Guillermo. MInd opening a ticket so we can take a closer look?

And no, I did not publish for HTML5.

Hi,
Have you been able to solve the ERROR: Could not load the file 'story_content/data.swf' problem?
Haven't heard from you in a while
Thanks,

Do we have a resolution for this issue as i am experiencing the same problem using FireFox and uploading content into our Blackbard 9.1 VLE?

Hi Dominic! There are lots of helpful links in this thread.
In regards to Guillermo's specific case, it was found that there was an issue in his zip folder and you can read more about that here.
The solution someone found was using an iframe tag that calls the story.html file that Articulate creates.
It's been a while so I don't remember the details; not even sure I figured it out or someone else did and send it to me.
Thanks for popping in Guillermo It has been quite a while!
