error in preview or launching the exe file

Jan 02, 2016

Hi,

I am experiencing problems in launching the preview of the slides and also while opening the published .exe file. Picture attached for reference.

I read in one of the previous forums that problem is with the newest version of flash player so I uninstalled flash player from my windows. I am not sure how to revert back to the old version of flash player as I use Chrome. I cannot find the instructions to do so either.

Please help. I have an urgent deadline to meet.

Hi Fazal

here is a quote from Justin Wilcox from Articulate that may help you

Hi Joseph

I know I responded to your case earlier but I just wanted to clarify some things regarding this issue. The issue is related to the latest update for Flash Player for Internet Explorer specifically. The bug Adobe introduced is not impacted by the version of Flash Player used in other browsers. The solution that we outline here is very specific about the steps that you need to take to resolve the issue. Google Chrome builds Flash Player into their web browser. You can install the latest version of Google Chrome and use the Preview function. The instructions that are outlined in the knowledge bases article are simply to rollback the version of Flash Player for Internet Explorer. That is the version we use to preview content in all of our software. We do know that Adobe is well aware of this issue and are working to address it. Unfortunately we are not in a position to simply not use Flash Player at this time. We hope that Adobe addresses this issue in a timely manner. In the meantime, the article we have outlined will allow you to continue to work with Articulate software. If you find that this is not the case, I am more than happy to reach out to you, or anyone else encountering this issue, and see what I can do to make sure you are up and running as quickly as possible.

Hope that helps

Good news! Adobe and Microsoft have fixed the Flash Player bug that broke many applications just before the new year, including Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline, and Articulate Studio.

Here's how to install the latest Adobe/Microsoft update so you can preview your e-learning projects, edit videos, and launch CD-published courses again.
