Error Message for Client's LMS

May 17, 2013

Hello,

I am wondering if anyone can help me.  My client sent me this error message (see attached) and I am perplexed as to what it means.  Do I need to rename the course for them and republish?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Sean,

What LMS are they using? Have they contacted them about the error message?

I did notice a lot of underscores in the course name, if you remove those, does the same thing happen?

It may also help to test your course in SCORM Cloud

If you're using AICC content please take a look at the article below for testing information:

Articulate Support - Testing AICC content at SCORM Cloud

If it appears in SCORM Cloud as well, we'd be happy to take a closer look at what might be going on.

If you can't replicate the issue in SCORM Cloud, it's probably an issue that you'd want to take to your LMS team.

The articles here and here may also help clear up common LMS issues.

Let us know how it turns out.

Thanks!

Hi Christine,

I believe they are using a learning package for Share Point.  I am not sure how those underscores ended up in there because they are not part of my naming structure for the files that I sent them.

I am trying the SCORM cloud.  I have already previewed the course for the client in my Moodle account and everything worked fine.

They seem to have a lot of issues with their LMS and have informed me that it seems to be only with my courses that I provide them?

Hi Sean,

Without specific information on the course, and knowing what type of content the LMS supports, it's difficult to say why the courses aren't working when launched in their LMS.

Were you able to find any additional information over the weekend?

It may be a good idea to have them specify what type of host they are using. You may want to confirm whether or not they are using a SharePoint server, or some other host/LMS.

As for the underscores, the only thing that comes to mind is spaces (though, these are usually replaced with "%20", etc.), maybe the server is inserting those when they upload the content.
