Error Message--project can't be saved?

Oct 11, 2013

I'm getting the following message:

Object Reference not be set to an instance of an object.

Any idea what it means or how I can rectify?

Hi Carmen,

It's possible the file has become corrupt. One solution for a corrupt file could be to import your Storyline file into a new project: Importing From Another Storyline Project

To prevent future corruption, you'll want to follow these general guidelines:

  • Work on your local drive (your C: drive).Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, includingfile corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
  • You should also make sure the directory pathto your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters(for example C:\Articulate).
  • Avoid using special characters, accents orsymbols in your file names.
