Error when opening LMS Course in Edge

Nov 29, 2022

I am using the most recent update of Storyline 360.

I have created a new project and uploaded it to our LMS.

It can be opened normally using Google Chrome.

When opening it with MS Edge, a black page appears with the headline 'End of support for Internet Explorer 11'.

I can upload projects made with older updates to the LMS and they work as normal.

Any ideas as to what could be causing this?

Hi John,

Have you tested your course in SCORM cloud? It's an online LMS environment that can be used to figure out whether the issue is with the LMS or the Story file. If you test your course on SCORM cloud and you get the same result in Edge, please share your file here or with our support engineers privately in a support case?

Thanks for reaching out!

Hi - I'm having the same sort of issue.
Course runs fine in Chrome and Edge in our TEST environment and from the SCORM cloud.

BUT when trying to run from our PROD environment we get the dreaded 'End of support for Internet Explorer 11' when using Edge (Chrome still works fine).

Has anyone experienced this? Why would it work in our TEST environment, but not PROD. They're both IIS servers.
Edge version Version 114.0.1823.55

Hello Rob,

Looks like the course is detecting that you're using an outdated version of Microsoft Edge. Would you mind checking if you have the latest available supported version installed to correct the behavior? If the issue persists, please take a screenshot of the 'About Microsoft Edge' page of the browser and share it with us here so we can take a look if you are running a supported version.

articulate should modify the behaviour of storyline with MS Edge in IE 11 mode

this mode will be used in many companies and will  be official supported until 2029

Please note that the Internet Explorer (IE) 11 desktop application ended support for certain operating systems on June 15, 2022. Customers are encouraged to move to Microsoft Edge with IE mode. IE mode enables backward compatibility and will be supported through at least 2029.
