Export for translation and import back into Storyline 360 as layers?

Dec 05, 2018

Very sorry if there's an existing thread on this (please point me to it if there is!) but I looked around a bit and couldn't find the exact answer to my question.

I have a Storyline 360 course I need to offer in 11 languages. The language options MUST be part of a single course; I can't generate 11 different courses to represent each language. I also need to avoid using scenes as a solution as this will result in a very large file that my LMS might not be able handle.

Is it possible to produce the course in English, export an XLIFF for translation, and then import back in XLIFFs in multiple languages as layers?

Any available solutions --obvious or creative -- to this would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Sarah!

Although I'm not aware of a feature that allows to directly import .XLIFF files directly into a course layer, I did see a community article that discusses solutions to what you're describing.

Here is the community article.

How to Create One Storyline Course with Multiple Languages

Hoping this helps and happy holidays!
