Hi, does anyone know how I can get rid of the extra padding in my swf file? Please see screenshot below. The dotted line indicates the size of the swf, but in my slide, the image should be filling the entire screen of the slide. Any help appreciated, thanks!
Do you see this padding if you launch the SWF file externally? You can try this by launching the SWF file manually, or you can even try dragging it into a browser (I'm not sure how visible this will be in a browser, though, as most default backgrounds are white).
Hi Christine, it looks like the padding is present in the swf file itself. My guess is that this is where the player is supposed to be. Even though we are able to set the player color as transparent, we cannot actually remove it, hence the padding.
Well, that's good news and bad news, I suppose. At least we know why it's happening. If it's built into the SWF, you could try to edit it within the original program. However, SWF movies cannot be edited in Storyline. To edit SWF movies, you will need to use third-party editing software, and then import the edited files into Storyline.
Another option would be to make a screen recording of the SWF file and just record the area that doesn't contain the padding. Also, you could just place shapes or a border around the SWF.
Let me know how it goes, Irene. Hopefully one of these methods will work for you!
