I'd like to help figure out what you're running into.
Can you let me know what version of Storyline and Word you're using? Also are you on the latest update of Storyline - you can find out the update number by going to About Articulate Storyline from the Help Tab.
If you want to share the .story file here with us, I can also look at testing it and publishing it myself.
