Failed Quiz Attempts NOT Reporting Back to LMS

Oct 20, 2015

Hi all-

I am experiencing a very frustrating issue with my Storyline project.  We have a module that includes a quiz, requiring 80% to pass.  The quiz allows for 2 attempts (set up via adding a variable which hides the "retry quiz" button after 1 click to avoid unlimited attempts).

Once we loaded the SCORM file into our LMS (Halogen) - it will report back a passing score, but will NOT report back failed attempts.  The status remains set as "enrolled" in Halogen and we can retry the module as much as we want since the failed status never closes it out.  I have triggers set to report the results (obviously working as the pass scores make it back), but the failed scores just won't go.  I made sure to publish the file using the "passed/failed" language.

Any thoughts?

Hi, Logan -- Thanks for your question, and I'm sorry to hear you are experiencing frustration! Have you had an opportunity to test your course in the SCORM Cloud to see how it behaves in that environment (as it is the industry standard for LMS testing)? You may also want to check out this article on How to Troubleshoot Your LMS with SCORM Cloud.

Please let us know if issues persist, and hopefully, other members of the community who have used Halogen can share their experiences, as well.

Hi Christie-

I was waiting to reply to my thread until we resolved the issue, but yes, I did test my course in SCORM cloud and it seems to be reporting normally.  So, it leads me to believe there is something amiss with the LMS settings (which I don't control or have access to).

Thank you for your follow up and the great suggestion to use SCORM Cloud - I am new to the scene and this an invaluable tool!

Hi, Logan -- Thanks for the update and for letting us know that all is well when testing in the SCORM Cloud! If you do have additional information after you reach out to your LMS for further assistance, please feel free to share it here in the thread, as others may have a similar experience and could benefit from that info. Thanks again (and welcome to the community)! :)
