I need to create this for a Canvas course: a psychological assessment with both a total score and 7 subscores calculated from 35 questions using a Likert scale with 5 point valued at -2 to +2.
Any guidance you might offer is deeply appreciated!
If you use the standard Likert Survey questions and also include a Survey Results slide, the program will submit the responses to the LMS. However, thatdoesn'tcalculate any scores. It only tell the LMS how the learner answered each question.
If you want the learner to know their scores while they're in the course, you'd need custom programming to track what buttons they select.
If you want someone outside the course to know the scores, they'd have to pull the survey results, and then do the math themselves.
FYI: This post is about tracking custom surveys, but the basic principles for tracking button selections and adjusting variables still apply.
Note: The method described in that post only tracks within the program (for example, if you want to tell the learner their score and/or branch based on it). It's not designed to submit results to an LMS.
