Feedback on tailor of e-learning course on Time Management

Mar 09, 2014

Hello everyone,

I have created an e-learning course on Aritculate Storyline. The course name is Time management and objectives are the same.

For marketing purpose, I have created a tailor on the same software so, I can create a Need of doing this course in my audience mind.

Before going ahead, I thought it's better to share this tailor with you Gurus of Articulate storyline  and get useful feedback. This course is very simple (no attractive animations) and have tried to used some useful features of articulate which makes my audience engaged.

This course doesn't have any voice because I want to grab my audience attention by reading the content.

It will be great if I will get your valuable feedback.

Hi Mohammad

thanks for sharing.

It is a nice simple design.  I think you need to pay more attention to the design,  these are a few of the things I picked up.

The first slide needs the previous button removing from the player, not sure it needs your name on the course

The second slide has text over the graphic, not a good look

The characters appear to be floating in space anchor them to the bottom of the slide, this is especially relevant when using torso only.

Is the plan to have audio?  A lot of the animations take a while to load, they should be faster.

On the effective planning slide the instructions disappear, if you need them to move then set them to hide when a user clicks an image.  I am sure you could fit all that information on one slide instead of having to toggle the information.

The calendar page, I do not understand why the close button is a different colour on each popup.

I think overall you could benefit from using layer and slide transitions, the lack of voice over and the slow animations is a problem.

Thanks fr sharing.

Thanks for your valuable feedback and great ideas.  I shall do the above changes and let you know.

Yes, it is very simple and the reason of not having voice over in it because my target audience are arabic students. They have some language problem that's why I don't think that listening will make them more focus on the content. What do you think?

Nice work.

A few other items I noticed:

  • On the "What is planning slide" it bothers my eye that some of the text is on top of the image.
  • I might rearrange the "Planning" slide that lists the steps. My eye has to jump from the bottom right up to the top left. Not a natural movement for westerners.  Perhaps it works better for your Arabic students?
  • On the calendar page the instructions have a white block around them, might want to make that transparent or trim it down.
  • I stared at last slide for a bit before I realized I was supposed to click the envelope. When I did the entire page was replaced by my Gmail accounts new email form. I had no way to get back to the course. I think you can set the target for the link to open in a new window.

Thanks for letting us take a look!

Thanks for posting - some comments:

1. Planning quote needs quotation marks at the start too.
2. When I played the course, it was larger than my browser, so I could not see the lower part of the slide, and therefore the Navigation
3. For me, there were too many visual styles.
4. Why have a Zoom on a calendar image?
5. On the part where you click on the Calendar - why bullets? These are not bullet points, they are statements.
6. "Drop your comments" tried to start up a Microsoft email account for me. I do not use Microsoft email....

For me the course is quite "sterile", and does not really go into enough detail. Perhaps a voiceover explaining some of the concepts in more depth would solve this.
