Despite multiple laptop restarts, I am getting this error message every time I try to open my project.

All was well yesterday in the office.

I'm always wireless, whether from home or from work. Today I am on my home network connected to my work network via secure VPN. Everything else is behaving normally.

When I double-click my .story file from Explorer, an error message says the project can't be opened because it might've been created in a newer version of Storyline.

Hi Kelly,

My best bet is that working on the network is the root of the issue. When creating, editing, or publishing a Storyline project, be sure you're working from your local hard drive (typically your C: drive). Working from a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, such as file corruption, an inability to save changes you've made to your project, and loss of resources.
