Hello! I am trying to open a storyline file sent to me by someone and when I open the file, I get the error message: "This project cannot be opened. It may have been created in a newer version of Storyline". I'm unable to open the file. Please help!
I think you have installed Storyline 1 on your machine. But the file you have recieved was produced in Storyline 2. The source files are not backward compatible. Without Storyline2 you can not open the project.
If as Ralf mentioned you're certain that they were both created in the same version of Storyline, you may also want to look into confirming that you're working with local project files as detailed here. If you're opening the file by clicking on a Storyline icon for it, have you tried opening Storyline first and then browsing for the file to open within there?
Please let us know if you're still having difficulty.
by raw files do you mean the source file that you open and edit in Storyline. If so that is not contained in the published output. The source file has an extension of .story - that's what you'd need to be looking for on your old computer.

Hello,
I'm trying to transfer my raw Storyline 2 files to another computer. I only have the output files on the new computer. Here's what I'm doing:
Clicking on "Browse
Click on my output file
Click on the story_content file
shows external_flies or slides
From there I get stuck.
Do you have a tutorial about how to migrate raw files to a new computer?
Thanks, as always! Diane

Thank you. I figured it out. Diane
