Flash player X causing issues

Hi Guys,

Recently when I publish online trainings using Storyline I have found that systems running Flash version 10 will not play the slide animations resulting in blank/ incomplete slides being displayed.

The same system running flash player 11 will run the annimations/ course no problem.

Has anyone else encountered this issue or could suggest a setting I may have changed? The company itself is global but has no method of rolling out updates so ensuring every system is running Flash version 11 will be a pain!

I opened a Ticket and I was sent Update 2 to try and test. I have found that flash player 11 fixes the issues that I am having on several machines and so rather than downgrading to update 2 I am currently working with my IT dept to try and get flash updated throughout the company. I think this is the best solution as the issue also occurred with a file developed by a vendor as well as my courses so it could be a particular articulate update 3 & Flash issue rather than my individual install.

I also had the same issue with Storyline update 3, IE 8, and Flash. Users who had Flash 10 could not run the course but users with Flash 11 had no issues. Getting an updated Flash player installed across the enterprise will take some arm-twisting so I republished the course using Storyline update 2. It's still early, but it seems to have solved the problem.

Hi Nancy sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I linked this issue with Storyline update 3 and Flash Player 10. Unfortunately I had already published the course before I realised that users had issues so the easiest solution was to contact whoever had an issue and ask them to update to FP11. I believe using Update 2 would solve all issues but it wasn't a solution for me as I couldn't cancel a course based on our Quality Compliant systems. If you can, I would recommend returning to update 2 (Support kindy sent it onto me) if updating the flash player is not an option!

For those of you still subscribed to this thread, I'd like to do a quick follow-up.

With Articulate Storyline Update 4 installed, are you still having trouble playing back content on machines running Flash Player 10?  If so, can you please share the specific Flash Player build number that you are having trouble with (10.0.45.2 versus 10.3.183.90 versus something else, for example)?

We'd like to see if we managed to fix this in Update 4, or if your learners are still being impacted.  Thanks!
