Flash with HTML 5 fall back

Jul 22, 2020

We have been publishing our Scorm content use the Flash with HTML5 fallback as our default for a long while. will this work when flash is no longer? will the fallback be enough to allow our objects to function correctly?

Any thoughts would be great. I guess I don't know how this transition will work from a practical sense, will flash just stop working, or will it just not be supported moving forward?

Hi Mike,

Happy to help here! On January 1, 2021, Microsoft won't allow the Flash Player to operate on Windows, and web browsers won't run flash content, so it will essentially stop working.

Published courses that include HTML5 output will continue to work, but any Flash-only courses need to be republished to HTML5. Our recommendation is to publish HTML5-only to ensure a Flash-free experience from now and onward.

This article covers the transition in greater detail. Take a look and let us know if you have further questions!
