Hi Carmen

This font is intended to be used as a webfont with shortcodes and CSS stuff. I use them myself on my website. However you can use them as a regular font.

Here is a  suggestion:

Go to the website homepage (www.fontawesome.io) and download it. Unzip it and browse the font folder and install de font in your system.

Using Adobe Illustrator, open the gliphs menu and select the font. Use the Text tool to create a point text and select the Glyph you want (double click will add it to the text field.

Convert it to Outlines and paste it in Photoshop at the desired size.

You can use it as a font in SL but you will have to know how to type the icon you want.

Good Luck. A.
