Font Missing in Publish (Mac only... I think...)

Apr 11, 2019

Hi guys,

I've been working on a course using the font FrutigerNextLT. When I export the course using HTML with Flash fallback, or vice-versa, the text disappears on Mac devices (tested on Macbook pro and iPhone, using Safari on the mac and Chrome on the iPhone). I've tested on Chrome, Firefox and IE with my windows desktop and the fonts work fine.

Modern text is turned on. I had SL360 installed as a trial, so I uninstalled that as I read that could be an issue, but it still persists. I am using Storyline 3. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi Jordan,

Thanks for sharing the details of what you are seeing in your published course.

I was able to find this font, install, and publish a slide using it.

It works for me in all of the following environments:

  • Windows 10
    • Chrome  73.0.3683.103
    • Edge 44.17763.1.0
    • IE 11.379.17763.0
  • Mac
    • Safari 12.1
    • Chrome 73.0.3683.103
    • Firefox 66.0.3

Here is my test file. How does that appear to you?

Hi Leslie,

I've attached a screenshot of what it looks like in the development screen. It displays fine during preview, but when I export it will look like the screenshot, only the text won't be there. So you see the people in the elevator and the blue background, but no text. This is on every slide as every bit of text in the course uses the font, so it basically displays as a wordless course.

It could be an issue with the font... maybe it's a little dodgy. If the font name doesn't display on your system in the same format as it does in my screenshot maybe I don't have the official font and that's the problem.
