Force Mobile Responsive Player for All Devices

Aug 18, 2017

I just signed up for Articulate 360 and I really like the way the new responsive player looks and works for mobile devices.

Is there any way to "force" the mobile player for Storyline 360 projects? I would like to have the same player show up on computers and mobile devices (tablets/phones) and I do not want to use the Articulate Player.

I am sure there is a CSS code block I can edit or use to do this.

Hi Ashley,

what about the unified player? 2017 is gone.

I need a SL3 player with "mobile" deactivated.

It is very annoying that there is no chance to deactivate the mobile version. I need it for various projects.

The posted javascript code in this community does only work half. You can't use e.g. sliders anymore when hacking your player.

I really need this unified player, please!

Yours,
Jan

Hi Jan,

Sorry for the delay on this - the challenge of forecasting release dates. 😉

Our team is still working on this unified player, and as soon as we have an update to share we'll certainly post here in ELH!

I can't speak to the Javascript element, but perhaps you could share the set up you're having issues with and folks in the community can take a look at it? They may be able to help narrow down a change or fix to make in the meantime?

It looks like the articulate 360 player has been changed after I finished my last project in November 2017.

The black bars are hidden now when not activating standard prev- and forward buttons.

Thank you.

@Ashley: this is the thread (javascript) I mentioned: https://community.articulate.com/discussions/articulate-storyline/how-to-fully-disable-responsive-player

I hope that you will give us users of articualte 360 the control over the whole player, so we can adjust it to meet our needs.

Hi Jan,

Yes, Phil is right that the unified player will make the player the same across the devices. You can still disable all player elements as needed, but the black bars that appear may still happen based on your overall slide size design and the device used.

For the Javascript piece, I'd have to leave that to the community as it's outside what I can offer help with.
