Wondered if anyone else has had this issue. First, I'm still on Storyline 1. Ordering update as we speak.
When I embed my YouTube video into the slide, I was trying to force the closed captioning to show. Normally, this is done by adding an extra line of code - &cc_load_policy=1 to the embed URL.
This normally works when embedding on other websites but doesn't seem to work inside Storyline.
I may be wrong about this, but I think these options, e.g. enabling CC, only work when you insert a YouTube video as a webobject. See here the two options, embed vs. web object. Give it a try.
Yes and No. Yes, it will put the video on the page but it also puts the whole YouTube page. Also, when you embed, you get the running time of the video in your timeline, so you can control when the slide progresses. Doesn't look like that is an option with Web Object.
If you want to try the embed code, give it a shot:
I've slightly customized it with the &cc_load_policy=1 addition which is what would normally add the closed captioning on when played automatically. If you embed this a website or LMS directly it works.
Thanks Scott for sharing the code. I placed this in my project with the embed code on the first slide and then just for comparisons sake, the video linked as a web object on the second slide and everything looks fine on my end. Can you compare this to what you're seeing? Seems the closed captions are on in the web object.

Looks like Michael has you covered, but let us know if you need anything else.
