I've created a Manager's Cash Simulation (using Storyline 2) and am trying to display numeric reference variables with thousands separators. For example, 17,233.00 versus 17233. I don't see how to do this. Am I missing something fundamental here?
Also, is there a simple way (or otherwise) to add the $ sign as needed? Such as $17,233 versus 17233?
Kellie, check out the javascript trigger I added to the submit button in the attached project. That should re-format the number for you. Just make sure your users are not using the Articulate Mobile Player, as it does not support javascript.
Since I can't actually see the script, how do I just add the coma separators? And, since I haven't done it, how do I actually add the script itself?Thank you!
Kellie, I've just updated the project and attached a new file here, so that the script gives you the correct decimal points too. You can see the actual script by inspecting the trigger, then clicking the button with the 3 little dots. The script gets the value of the "NumericEntry" variable from Storyline and then sets the value of the "newNumber" variable in Storyline, which is the displayed result that you want. You can copy and paste this trigger, or the script code itself into any project you like. Let me know if you need more help.
