freeform drag and drop quiz question

Hi! I am new to the community and am really enjoying all the help I have gotten so far reading the different forums. I am working on a drag and drop freeform I have multiple options that are being dragged over and dropped on two different items. Both items I would like to have a drag over state on them whether the answer is correct or incorrect while the user is dragging and dropping. I can successfully achieve this when I have the drag item options selected to return item to start point if dropped outside of any drop target. If I have it set to return item to start point if dropped outside a correct drop target the when the user drags over the incorrect drop target it does not show any sort of drag over state and only does this when user drags item and drops over the correct answer.
We want the drag item options to be selected to return item to start point if dropped out side a correct drop target but we want everything to remain uniform until the user completes dropping all the items. Is there anyway that i can have the drag over states working on both correct and incorrect items? I have both items set with a drop correct drop incorrect plus a drag states but it only works if I have the option selected to return item to start point if dropped outside of any target. I hope this makes sense to someone. I am new to all this so I may be a bit confused myself and hopefully this is a simple fix.
